Yes, Leeloo slings have been tested and conform to ASTM F2907, the Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Sling Carriers. Our rings are 100% aluminum and have been tested and conform to CPSIA regulations.

All of our dyes are certified low-impact according to the Standard 100 by OKEO-TEX, which means they’re gentle for your baby, our artisans, and the environment.

Leeloo slings come in two sizes. Our standard length sling is 78" and our long length sling is 90". The standard length fits most wearers, and the long length fits plus size and taller wearers. See our sizing guide for reference.

Yes! Your sling fabric is made of 100% cotton and it is handwoven on a footloom by skilled artisans in Guatemala.

Unlike other sling fabrics that may lose support or that may slip in the rings over time, the handwoven cotton fabric is known for its durability. It gives the feeling of hugging your baby without losing the support that you need. Also, the weave of the fabric is soft to the touch provides excellent breathability.

Yes! Your sling is made from 100% handwoven cotton. Natural variations in the fabric are part of its innate beauty and associated with the slow, handcrafted process.

We recommend hand-washing or using a delicate cycle. Unthread the length from the rings. Use cold water to avoid shrinking or fading. Also, please use liquid detergent that is free of optical brighteners or softener. After washing, lay flat or line dry. You can also hot iron if desired.

Your sling was handwoven in Guatemala and sewn in the USA. We are strongly committed to Fair Trade principles.

The Artisans

The Artisans of the Guatemalan highlands create some of the loveliest textiles. The variety of color and patterns reveals a range of weaving techniques rooted in ancient traditions. Your purchase supports them economically, while allowing them to preserve their traditions.

Leeloo is strongly committed to ethical trade and fair trade principles. Fair trade encourages companies to embrace corporate social responsibility, particularly as it relates to making products in developing countries. Examples include paying fair wages to our artisans, supporting marginalized communities, and minimizing our environmental impact.

As a new company, Leeloo is not yet eligible for membership with the major fair trade organizations, but that doesn't mean that we don't incorporate fair and ethical trade practices into our business. For Leeloo, fair and ethical trade is a way of life. It means that we pre-vet and actively monitor our supply chain to ensure that they adhere to the Fair Trade Federation's Fair Trade Principles. It also means that we go out of our way to ensure that we're leaving a positive impact on the communities with which we trade.

Yes! Textile workers are among the lowest-paid in the world and for the artisans of Guatemala, this is particularly true. Historically, these workers, who are predominantly women, have faced low wages and discrimination.

Leeloo exists to provide consistent economic opportunity for artisans. All of our weavers work from their homes, on their own schedules, and set their own wages. Your purchase allows these weavers to support their families and gives them access to educational resources to develop new skills.
